The Zimbabwe Football Association advises the football family and the nation at large that it has appointed Sunday Chidzambga as the caretaker senior national team coach, exclusively for the upcoming CECAFA tournament.
Zimbabwe accepted the invitation to play as a guest nation at the 2017 edition of the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations tournament to be played in Kenya.
Zimbabwe will join Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations [Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Burundi, Rwanda, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Sudan and Somalia] between 25 November and 9 December 2017.
Chidzambga has vast experience as a national team coach, having earned Zimbabwe her first appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations finals in 2004.
The veteran coach has also enjoyed considerable success in the sub region, winning this year’s COSAFA Castle Cup hosted by South Africa in July.
Affectionately known as ‘Mhofu’, Chidzambga is currently the head coach of ZPC Kariba Football Club, a premier soccer league club.
