Former Zimbabwe Football Association president, Dr Cuthbert Dube has touted President Kamambo as a deserving leader with the ability to transform local football.
Dube, a shrewd football administrator at his prime, said he is excited by the confidence that the football family demonstrated in electing the new President.
“I am extremely excited and pleased that the ZIFA electorate and soccer fraternity, me included, have a lot of confidence in you,” said Dube.
The former president further pledged his backing for the new leadership, and he underscored the need for all football supporters to rally behind the new team.
“Be assured of my total and unconditional loyalty and support towards you personally and your entire leadership.
“You deserve all the support from all football supporters,” he added.
Kamambo said he is honoured to get such recognition and support from the former president.
“I am truly humbled by his kind gesture to find time to write to me. Dr Dube has been in this position before and I am grateful he still wants to contribute to local football.
“My administration welcomes all stakeholders willing to be part of football development, everyone,” Kamambo said.
Kamambo was elected as the ZIFA President on 16 December 2019, replacing Phillip Chiyangwa.
Previously he had served in the ZIFA executive committee under Chiyangwa before resigning when his official term ended.
