Minister happy with progress at NSS

Sports minister Hon. Kirsty Coventry said she is very happy with the drastic improvements at the National Sports Stadium.
The Minister toured the facility to assess progress of refurbishments being done ahead of the 15 June deadline set by CAF.
The minister was mostly impressed by work done on dressing rooms, media facilities and the pitch.
Hon. Coventry admitted that bucket seats and electric turnstiles will take longer than expected to complete because of import restrictions due to covid-19 containment measures.
Hon. Coventry also revealed that the government will also procure bucket seats for Sakubva stadium in Mutare above the two stadia earmarked for international matches already.
She warned that installation of bucket seats will can drastically reduce stadium’s seating capacity, hence the need to extensively consult experts on how best to modernise the facilities without eventually shortchanging spectators.
