Registrar General Clemence Masango confirmed that his department will issues passports for the United Kingdom-based Warriors quintet of Macauley Bonne, Tivonge Rushesha, Cliff Moyo, Adam Chicksen and Jordan Zemura in time for Zimbabwe’s upcoming fixtures.
All five players are part of a huge provisional squad of 32 named by coach Joseph Antipas for our first and second 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Botswana and Zambia on 15 & 19 November respectively.
Bonne and Chicksen have played in unofficial matches for Zimbabwe in the past, the former scoring in his Under-23 debut in a 2-1 loss to Morocco in 2014.
Five years later, the Charlton Athletic forward looks set to finally represent the country in an official match.
Zimbabwe host Botswana at Barbourfields Stadium on 15 November at 6pm and then play away to Zambia at the same time on 19 November.
We are in Group H with our first two opponents and reigning African Champions Algeria.
