ZIFA Provincial Executive Committee elections were held on 1 September. Elections were conducted in four provinces (Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland East, Bulawayo and Midlands) while the other six retained their positions uncontested.
Mashonaland East province has a new chairperson, Tsvuura Irimayi Oscar, who polled more votes (16) than incumbent, Mpuli David Sikwili (5) and former vice chairperson Chakavarika Nicholas (1).
In Midlands, Mathe Pervious was confirmed as the new chairperson following incumbent Chishanga Brain Austin’s withdrawal from the polls on election day.
Saika Gilbert was re-elected chairperson for Mashonaland Central province, polling 19 while Pfumo Maxwell got 2 votes.
Ntuta Francis polled the most votes in Bulawayo province (11) to retain the position of chairperson while Mazhambe Oscar Rebenia and Mthunzi Mkhululi polled 2 votes each.
Those confirmed uncontested are as follows:
Harare Province: Robert Tembo
Mashonaland West Province: Derrick Matapuri
Masvingo Province: Nobioth Magwizi
Manicaland Province: Kuziwa Nyabeze
Matebeleland South: Nkosilathi Ncube
Matebeleland North: Dennis Tshuma
An election was also conducted for the four executive committee membership posts in Mashonaland East because seven candidates had declared interest.
Marumure Jerikias (14), Munetsi Wilbert (12), Katambe Trust (16) and Chiremba Victor Tatenda (17) are the new executive committee members having outpolled Machiwenyika Tonderayi (6), Masarirambi Never Mandishona (2) and Kademeteme Brian (6)
All other positions in all provinces were not contested. Below are the full complements of executive committees as confirmed at the end of the electoral process on 1 September 2018.
Please note that no nominations were received for the positions of executive committee members for Matebeleland South. Only one nomination was received for executive committee membership in Mashonaland Central province.
