The Zimbabwe Football Association has secured a friendly match for the senior men’s team against Namibia during the November international break.
The Warriors will travel to Namibia for the match scheduled for 11 November at a stadium yet to be advised.
Spokesperson and Competitions Manager, Xolisani Gwesela told www.zifa.org.zw that the association is seized with ensuring that all national teams play regularly in preparation of Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in early 2018.
“We have secured a friendly match for the senior team away to Namibia.
“Namibia are a competitive team and we are certain that the players and the coaches will benefit a lot from playing the Brave Warriors,” Gwesela said.
A full complement of the Warriors players last played in the AFCON qualifier against Liberia on 11 June, thereafter, the senior team, made up of largely locally based players, played in and won the COSAFA cup.
Soon after the COSAFA triumph, a Warriors team made up of locally based players bowed out of the African Nations Championship at the hands of Namibia.
The Warriors’ next competitive fixture is an AFCON qualifier in March away to Congo.
