Defending champions Zimbabwe secured a COSAFA cup semi final spot after dismissing  Indian Ocean Islanders Comoros  2-0 in a thrilling quarter final encounter at Princess Magogo stadium in Ethekwini.

The Warriors got their goals through Evans Rusike in the 6th minute while Khama Billiat scored in the 35th minute.

Warriors coach Sunday Chidzambga was delighted by the result.

“As a nation we are obviously excited by this result , although Comoros had played other matches in the group stages.  We are happy that we are now proceeding to the next round,” said history making coach .

Zimbabwe will play either Zambia or Malawi in the semi-final set for Wednesday.
