Week 19 in retrospect: Ngezi maintain lead, Rhinos tumble further

The second half of the Castle Premier Soccer League (CPSL) season enters the third round this weekend, at the back of some decisive match outcomes in match day 19.

FC Platinum maintained their winning start to the second half of the season, beating a resilient Bantu Rovers by a goal to nil, having ended Dynamos’ eight-match unbeaten streak on Wednesday.

Highlanders and Dynamos both responded well to midweek losses, the Bulawayo giants dispatching Shabanie Mine 0-2 at Maglas while DeMbare’s homecoming ended in a 2-1 win over Triangle.

The official reopening of Rufaro stadium ended in tragedy for Caps United who lost 3-2 to Harare City in a game where the reigning Champions scored two own goals.
