Young Warriors Coach names final squad for COSAFA championship

Bekithemba Ndlovu has selected the final 20 Young Warriors to represent Zimbabwe at the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) Under_20 Youth Championship to be played in Zambia from 6 to 16 December.

The selection is dominated by players from Premier Soccer League clubs’ development structures. Highlanders contributed a fifth of the team, four of its players making it into the squad.

Despite having four players in the provisional squad, only Shadreck Nyahwa made the final cut for Bantu Rovers.

Yadah Stars’ Leeroy Mavunga is perhaps the most experienced player in the squad, having played a part in the senior team’s COSAFA triumph in July before going to Lisbon for a trial stint.

The team leaves for Zambia in the early hours on 5 December by road.
