Young Warriors off to SA

The national under-23 leaves for South Africa in the afternoon on 4 September ahead of a crucial first leg AFCON 2019 qualifier to be played on 6 September at Orlando Stadium.

Coach Tonderai Ndiraya had two training sessions with a provisional squad of 26 players before trimming it to 18.

The squad is made up of 14 locally based players and four who are playing outside the country.

Martin Mapisa headlines the foreign quartet following an outstanding performance in the previous round against Mozambique.

The return leg is set for the 10th of September at Barbourfields stadium in Bulawayo.

The winner of the two-legged qualifier becomes one of only eight teams to participate at the AFCON finals in Egypt from 8 to 22 November.
