ZIFA WARNS COACHES’ UNIONS

THE Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has warned bogus coaches unions after it emerged they were organising coaching courses. In a statement, the national association said they had learnt through media reports that some coaches unions are claiming to be organising coaching courses.
‘The Association would like to categorically declare that no organisation is authorised to organise and conduct coaching courses other than the Zimbabwe Football Association. All coaching unions who are claiming to be organising coaching courses should desist from doing so with immediate effect,’ ZIFA said in a statement.
The warning comes barely a week after ZIFA started Level One and Two courses in Harare which attracted a combined 106 participants. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is also revising the curriculum for courses across the continent to align them with world standards.
